This degree concentration is designed for experienced law enforcement professionals who wish to further their careers by completing a program of study designed to increase their skills in management, organizational relations, and communication; their knowledge of the contexts within which law enforcement administration fits; their understanding of workplace issues that can affect productivity; and their ability to manage diversity in the workforce. In most cases, candidates for this degree program will be active duty or retired law enforcement officers at the municipal, county, or state levels, though military police and-in certain circumstances-those whose experience is in private security are eligible as well.

To be admitted into the Law Enforcement Administration concentration, students must show the following: Evidence of at least five years experience in law enforcement or other police work, as indicated above; completion of a law enforcement training program sufficiently academic to earn at least 10 semester hours of credit; evidence of having completed a minimum of 30 graded semester hours of credit from an accredited college or university.

Individuals with private security backgrounds may be eligible to use these guidelines, if they have earned a minimum of 30 semester hours of college credit and can demonstrate experience and training equivalent to (1) and (2), above.
